IIT Stuart and IIT Teams Enter Origami Idea Challenge II

IIT Stuart School of Business is one of 24 of the world's top ranked universities invited to participate in the Origami Idea Challenge II, a global investment strategy tournament hosted by Origami Capital Partners. Competitors will present innovative investment ideas to compete for $130,000 in cash prizes, and the chance to see their idea become a reality with Origami.

The competition consists of eight divisions, including two open and six invited divisions with a total of 24 institutions represented. IIT Stuart was invited to compete in Division 6 along with University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and University of Michigan.

The competition begins in December with submission of an idea brief and judges' feedback, followed by a full idea presentation in February, and a final winner selected on May 16, 2014.

IIT Stuart will be represented by: Biwei Chen (M.M.F.); Ekawin Kungvalchokchai (M.S. Finance); Jin Wang (M.M.F.);Liwei Dai (M.S. Finance); Siyuan Qian (M.S. Finance); and Zhanqiu Wang (M.S. Finance). The team will be mentored by John Bilson, Associate Dean, Professor, and Director of IIT Stuart's M.S. Finance program.

An additional IIT team will compete in the open division, and includes researchers from the IIT Thermal Processing Technology Center: Quanzhi He (M.S. Materials Science ‘13); J. Robert Selman, University Distinguished Research Professor in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering; and Philip G. Nash, Professor of Materials Engineering and Director of the Thermal Processing Technology Center.
