Spring 2012 Orientation
We are thrilled that you have chosen to attend IIT! Our orientation program is designed to provide new graduate students with important information to ensure a successful transition to IIT and the Stuart School of Business.
New Student Orientation is mandatory for all new students starting in the Spring semester. Full-time and part-time students will have separate orientations, which are outlined below. In addition to the information provided on this page, you will receive more detailed information via email in late December, including instructions on completing required on-line orientations prior to your arrival at Stuart.
All full-time students (including international students)
Full-time students will need to pick up New Student packets and complete the check-in process in the Welcome Center at the Stuart School of Business prior to attending orientation. The Welcome Center will be open during the following dates/times:

In addition, all students WITHOUT a Bachelor’s degree from a US institution and whose first language is not English will need to complete several English-language assessments (PCA) during their check-in. Please check in as early as possible to ensure you are able to complete all required testing.
New Student Orientation for international students will begin at 9:30am on Friday, January 6, 2012. All domestic full-time students will begin their orientation starting at 10:30am on Friday, January 6, 2012. Orientation for all full-time students will end at approximately 8:00pm (20:00). All students will need to have checked-in prior to the start of New Student Orientation. All orientation session will take place at the Stuart School of Business (565 W. Adams Street).
International Student Document Check
All students on an F-1 or J-1 student visa must check-in with the International Center at IIT within two (2) days of their arrival in Chicago. This check-in with the International Center is separate from the new student orientation check-in outlined above.

4) I-94 card
5) I-20 or DS-2019*
6) EAD Card (If Applicable)
*If you transferred from another US institution, the International Center will also need to copy your previous school’s I-20/ DS-2019 form.
Part-time students
As a part-time student, you will receive the necessary information to ensure your success at Stuart in a condensed format tailored to your needs as a part-time graduate student. Part-time New Student Orientation will take place at the Stuart School of Business (565 W. Adams St., Chicago, IL 60661) on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 5:00pm-6:00pm. We invite you to stick around from 6:00-7:00pm for light snacks afterwards to meet your peers and to talk individually with Stuart faculty and staff. The orientation room location and direction signage will be available in the lobby upon your arrival.
Remember:
Full-time students:
º Complete the online orientations prior to arriving at Stuart (will be sent via email in late December)
º Check-in and pick up your Welcome Packet prior to attending on-campus orientation
º If applicable, sign up for and complete all English-language (PCA) testing during check-in
º International students: Complete a second check-in with the International Center within two (2) days of arriving in Chicago
º Attend the Stuart School of Business New Student Orientation on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 9:30am-8pm. (Domestic students will begin at 10:30am.)
Part-time students:
º Complete the online orientations prior to arriving at Stuart for your on-campus orientation (will be sent via email in late December)
º Attend the Stuart School of Business New Student Orientation for Part-time Students on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 5pm-6pm. There will be a light reception afterwards with snacks and the opportunity to meet with staff & faculty from 6pm-7pm.
