James Wozny
Master of Finance ProgramJames Wozny found an IIT Stuart School of Business summer course in C++ programming language to be his most difficult, yet most rewarding, educational experience to date. "
The team dynamic, with each person trying to push and help each other, made the experience most memorable for me," he says. “By the end of the course, we all were better prepared for the final through our consistent hard work and preparation."
The merits and satisfaction of being a member of a cohesive team are second nature to Wozny, who played soccer throughout his childhood and adolescent years. In 2003, he refereed some youth games, and was given opportunities to learn and advance in that aspect of the sport. Today, he officiates top-level youth, amateur, college, semi-professional, and professional games throughout the Midwest.
After graduating from Purdue University, Wozny took a position as a financial analyst in the steel industry and soon developed an interest in trading. His best friend attended Stuart and thought it would be a good fit for Wozny, who believes that Stuart's focus on analytics and technology sets it apart from other business schools. He aspires to open his own trading firm and says that Stuart's team of educators will contribute to the realization of that dream."
The faculty experience is a huge positive of the program," Wozny says. "Many of the professors have worked in the field and therefore, are very knowledgeable in helping students prepare for careers in the financial markets."
