Why should I hire a Stuart intern or co-op student?

- Stuart students bring new ideas into the workplace environment from their previous work experiences and current coursework.
- Interns and co-op students help cut labor costs, since they generally do not receive benefits from their employers.
- Internships and co-ops provide employers with a simple way to evaluate possible future employees without making a long-term hiring commitment.
- Additional professional workforce can free management to work on long-range projects.
What is the difference between a co-op and an internship?
Internships run the duration of one semester and are required to be part-time, 20 hours per week or less. During the summer, internships can either be part-time or full-time (anything more than 20 hours).
Co-op is multiple semester employment commitment with a minimum commitment of two semesters full-time or four semesters part-time. Because of the length of their hire, co-op students can work on more complex, long-term projects than your typical interns, and therefore must hold paid positions.
Both internships a co-ops must be related to the student's field of study.
