    Notable Quote
If you want to learn how to solve real industrial problems, come to IIT Stuart. The faculty has just the right mix of industrial and academic experience to describe real problems and show how the material in the classroom applies to the solution.

    Notable Vignette
The students want to learn techniques that are going to help them get a job and be successful in the workplace. They also want to learn techniques that are a stepping stone to further advancements and allow them to prosper over the years after they leave Stuart.

    What excites me about Stuart
Stuart is a cross section of bright students where most have an adequate understanding on mathematical techniques. The school has extensive computer labs for use as needed. When possible, computer assignments are given as homework.

    My Teaching Philosophy
Teach the fundamentals of each topic so the students can subsequently enhance their knowledge with individual study as needed. Emphasize how the material taught in class is useful in industry. Give examples when possible and show computer results when they apply. When it is helpful, give the derivations but stress the applications.

    My Teaching/Research Interests
My research interests are wide and include: forecasting, inventory, production, supply chain, assembly lines, probability, simulation, queuing theory and data analysis. I enjoy working with the Ph.D. students in any of these topics while they are doing their research towards completion of their dissertation.
