About Stuart - Message From the Dean

I am pleased to welcome you to IIT Stuart School of Business, where we are educating tomorrow’s global leaders and innovators.

Times are continuously changing.  The 20th century was lead primarily by American business.  The wheels of the world’s economy were kept in motion by American imports and exports.  Undoubtedly, the 21st century has seen a dramatic shift in the world’s markets and business.  We are continuing to move towards a globalized economy where no one nation dominates.  As a result, our ways of doing business must change.  We must learn to work globally, utilizing innovative technologies and new business models. 

In order to meet the demands of this evolving global economy, we must invest in ourselves and in our future.  I believe that the most valuable long-term investment anyone can make is in higher education, not treasuries or securities.  Education has always been the key to opportunity and mobility in this increasingly globalized world.  Education is what will continue to propel our leaders forward.

At Stuart, we are educating our students to be prepared to lead in the face of constant change.  Our curriculum has been strategically designed to help give our students an advantage over the competition.  Our programs intertwine the concepts of creativity, entrepreneurship, incisive decision-making, innovation, leadership and innovation.  Extensive research has shown these qualities are necessary to be a successful leader and innovator.  As a result, our graduates are uniquely poised to be strategically competitive in today’s workforce.
